Is Therapy right for me?
We’re biased, but we believe that therapy is right for everyone - whether life is going relatively well or you’re experiencing longstanding difficulties. In the short-term, therapy can help most people gain skills and tools to manage life-stressors, or in the long-term, therapy can help most people gain insight into familial dynamics and relational patterns. In short: therapy is a space for exploration, and is different for every person, wherever one’s place in life.
How long does a session last?
Sessions last between 45-90 minutes.
How often do I need to be seen?
Depending on your concern, weekly therapy is recommended, particularly in the early phases of treatment. However, time and resources may prevent this: we can discuss these realities (and what to do about them) in our initial consultation.
What’s the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?
A psychiatrist prescribes medication to help manage your symptoms while a psychologist provides talk therapy. In order to ensure that you receive the best care possible, we will collaborate with your treatment team (doctors, psychiatrists) or refer you to those we believe may assist in your healing in order that your whole self - mind, body, spirit - is cared for.
What are the next steps?
After an initial consultation (around 15 minutes), you will meet with one of our providers to schedule an intake, where you will discuss where you are in life in a little more depth. If we can be of help, and you feel confident in your provider, we’ll work from there to determine your goals for therapy.
What is The cancellation policy?
The time you have reserved is yours, whether you’re on-time or running late. However life happens and things come up. If you need to cancel, please do so 24 hours before your appointment. Sessions cancelled within 24 hours will be charged the full rate.
